The History of Pilot Bay Lighthouse on Kootenay Lake

This 48-page soft covered book was published in 1997with financial support from The Friends of West Kootenay Parks, The Kootenay Lake Environmental Education Centre and The Riondel & Area Historical Society.

It chronicles the history of the this heritage building from the time construction started in 1904 at a location just south of Kootenay Bay. As well as information about the building and its role as a navigational aid, this book includes delightful vignettes about life around Kootenay Lake during the golden years of steamboat travel.
